ABOUT SOUTH FRASER ROWING

South Fraser Rowing Oar, a white background with a dark green, black, and blue stripe

South Fraser Rowing (SFR) was founded in 2020 to provide opportunities to youth to pursue and excel in the sport of rowing. By fostering an inclusive and team-based environment we hope to grow our programs to be the biggest and best in the west.

Rowing is one of Canada's top performing team sports at the Summer Olympics, and we hope to put as many rowers as possible on teams training towards podium performances. While we offer performance and high performance programs, there is opportunity for all youth to enjoy rowing in our various programs.

Located in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, SFR gets to row on some of the best water around. We can easily row for twelve kilometers on sheltered water only having to spin once. Not only is the water great for rowing, but we regularly witness sturgeons, eagles, herons, beavers, and the odd otter enjoying the water as well.

MISSION

To establish South Fraser Rowing as a leader in youth development, through providing enhanced sport & personal development opportunities.

VISION

To provide programming that meets the needs of all athletes - from those seeking podium performances to those getting their first time on the water - in an environment that is welcoming, inclusive, and that contributes to the rowing and local community as a whole.
